Make the sustainable choice in cookware. Kuhn Rikon's NEW LIFE cookware, with a pan body made of 100% recycled metals, keeps recyclable materials out of the landfill, uses less energy to produce, and reduces your carbon footprint -- all with incredible quality and performance.
The New Life frying pan consists of 100% recycled aluminum from Europe and is manufactured with up to 95% less energy than conventional aluminum frying pans.
Around 30 soda cans, bicycles and other recycled metals make up a 9.5-inch frying pan.
For the first time in about 35 years, an aluminum product is being manufactured once again at the factory in Rikon, Switzerland. The production is technically demanding, and we want to pay close attention to ensure the highest quality.
The full area induction surface distributes the heat quickly and evenly, and the thick base retains it for a long time. This in turn has a positive effect on energy consumption. The ergonomic Bakelite handle remains cool even at high temperatures and sits very nicely in your hand.
Also, due to its 3-layer non-stick ceramic reinforced coating, the durability and increased resistance of this frying pan are impressive. It is ideal for gentle and low-fat frying of vegetables, potatoes, fish, fried eggs and poultry meat. Searing, or the heating up of meals, can also be done with the New Life frying pan – it does it all. The coating is water-repellent – this makes the pan easy to clean, saving time and water.
The compacted aluminium scrap (cans, window frames, etc.) that arrives at the recycling plant, is first crushed again and placed on the conveyor belt. Once the impurities and the coating have been removed, the aluminium is re-melted into blocks and then hot- and cold rolled to its final thickness. Finally, the disks are blanked from the coil, and can now be transformed into a pan body.

Toss green asparagus and plum tomatoes into the New Life frying pan and prepare a delicious asparagus-tomato salad. With orange and lime, you can mix up a creamy orange vinaigrette. Grilled fish or seafood goes well with this.
